The Journey After Saying "Yes" to the Dress: A Guide for Brides

Congratulations! You've found the perfect wedding dress at White Blossom Bridal in Orlando, Florida, and you've joyfully said, "Yes!" to the dress of your dreams. Now that you've made this monumental decision, what comes next? In this blog post, we'll take you through the exciting journey that follows the magical moment of choosing your gown.

1. Patience is Key: The Production Process

The first thing to keep in mind is that the road from saying "yes" to the dress to actually wearing it down the aisle is a carefully orchestrated process. Depending on the designer, your gown may take anywhere from 4 to 9 months to arrive at our boutique. While the anticipation may be overwhelming, resist the urge to constantly call for updates. Designers often do not provide real-time progress reports, so our store may only know the estimated arrival date initially discussed when you placed your order. Trust that we have your wedding date in mind and will ensure your gown arrives in plenty of time for your special day.

2. The Arrival: Schedule Your Pick-Up Appointment Promptly

The exciting moment arrives when your gown makes its way to our boutique! We will promptly notify you of its arrival, and it's crucial to schedule your pick-up appointment as soon as possible. During this appointment, you'll have the chance to try on your gown to ensure it fits as expected. At White Blossom Bridal, we take pride in offering recommendations, including providing the contact information of our preferred seamstress. While you're free to choose any seamstress you prefer, our suggestion is based on trust and experience.

3. The Perfect Fit: Navigating Alterations

As your wedding date approaches, it's time to think about alterations. Schedule your first fitting 8-10 weeks before your big day, maintaining your weight throughout the alterations process for the best fit possible. The number of fittings required will depend on the complexity of your alterations, usually ranging from 2 to 4 sessions. Plan to have alterations completed 7-10 days before your wedding to allow for any last-minute adjustments. Don't forget to inquire if your chosen seamstress will steam your gown before your final pick-up.

4. Care and Storage: Preserving the Elegance

After the final fitting, it's essential to take proper care of your gown. Store it in a cool, dark place, such as a closet, and avoid scrunching or folding the garment bag to prevent wrinkles. Treat your dress with the utmost care to preserve its beauty until the moment you walk down the aisle.
